Meet the Author

Alexis Chanyl has been writing since she was eight years old. But it took losing her unborn child to miscarriage to inspire her to write her first book, For Mercy: Lessons I Would Have Taught My Daughter. Seeking to share her story, connect with other women, and express the powerful love she felt for the little girl she never knew, she compiled 100 "lessons" ranging from things she wished someone taught her when she was younger to ways to help any woman feel better about herself, expand her mind, or feel inspired and empowered to give more to the world.

A graduate of California State University Long Beach with a degree in psychology, Chanyl became fascinated with the differences in how men and women are socialized. The book reflects her passion for helping women achieve their full potential by working together and supporting each other. She currently runs a women's empowerment group called "SisterShvres" with her younger sister, and penned For Mercy, "as much an act of sisterhood as it is in motherhood" for anyone looking to connect and grow.

Alexis is a native of the Golden State and still lives and writes in Southern California. Her other passions include various forms of art, her sons, and seeking out adventure and experiences wherever she can find them.
